HOPe recognizes that teens have different needs and interests, and a desire for greater independence as they approach adulthood. We offer the following programs geared specifically for teens.

Snack & Chat

Ages 18-21, Saturday 12:00pm - 2:30pm

Snack and Chat is structured around meal preparation and cooking, and enables individuals to develop friendships and work collaboratively with their peers on common goals including planning a meal, shopping, food preparation and then sharing a meal in a group setting. Members of the group have the opportunity to improve in areas such as communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, self-advocacy, interpersonal skills, and self-organization.

Our staff spend time creating meal plans that integrate nutritional education. Aside from creating and cooking a meal, they discuss the important benefits of how food can support and heal the body. Monthly and weekly themes are created around the year, using local farm fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Program Fee: $35

Friend Zone

Ages 16-21, Sunday 11:00am - 4:00pm

Friend Zone provides an opportunity to engage in typical teen activities such as “hanging out” with friends for an afternoon, and going out to dinner or a movie. Participants should require minimal supervision.

Program Fee: $75

“I love seeing the faces of my group after cooking a meal. Every week I see their hard work turn into huge accomplishments, and their successes are a true testament to each person’s desire to learn and ability to achieve.”
