An Important Announcement from HOPe

Dear Friends and Families of The House of Possibilities,

The House of Possibilities exists because of our great TEAM. The HOPe TEAM's leader for 13+ years has been our friend, advocate, and staunch supporter, Paula Kavolius.

Paula's vision of HOPe became a reality in large measure because of her commitment and dedication to providing exceptional children's respite and adult day services to our clients. The journey from concept to successful reality has created a community committed to serving individuals and families in a safe and embracing environment. Thank you, Paula!

As HOPe continues to grow and flourish we embark on a new journey, embracing new leadership while Paula and her family enjoy a well earned respite of their own.

Make no mistake — Paula’s vision for individuals and families of special needs children continues with the competent and talented Program and Administrative Professionals who embrace and support our clients, families and mission each and every day!

In 2017, our programs provided:

  • 62,000 hours of service for children and adults;
  • 2,500 participants in multiple programs coming to HOPe from 80 towns;
  • 65 evenings of FREE overnight respite care.

Since HOPE’s founding in 2009, our programs have served:

  • Over 1,600 children;
  • Over 300,000 hours of programs for children and adults;
  • Over 9,500 participants in multiple programs.

We will be looking for an opportunity in the coming weeks for the HOPe community to celebrate Paula and her many contributions to HOPe. In the meantime, cards and notes of well-wishes for Paula can be sent to HOPe at 350 Washington Street, Easton, MA 02356.

Paula is succeeded by Interim Executive Director, Kim Comart. Kim comes to HOPe with over 40 years of non-profit management experience. He has been with HOPe since June, shadowing program leaders and clients, and interfacing with staff, families and key stakeholders to ensure we continue to build upon the strong foundation Paula created. Over the coming months, HOPe’s Board of Directors will be working with Kim and key stakeholders to identify a permanent Executive Director to lead HOPe.

The future is bright for HOPe because of our exceptional professional staff, volunteers, generous donors, and state agency partners. We thank you and will work diligently and enthusiastically to carry on the good work of the organization.

If you have questions, please feel free to reach Kim at k.comart@houseofpossibilities.org or the Board of Directors at board@houseofpossibilities.org.

Again, thank you for your commitment to our families and special thanks to Paula for her vision and love for HOPe!

With gratitude,
Tom Leaver, Chairman, on behalf of the Board of Directors of HOPe
