The Gifts.....

So I am having so much fun at HOPe planning parties and getting ready for the nice weather!!!! I am also planning my wedding at the same time.  I got engaged in December, when I went to Disney World and then something even better happened.  My fiancé decided to defer his deployment to Afghanistan! We just started marriage prep and it is a blast.  I think we are the only ones in the class that are enjoying it. Pre Cana or marriage prep is a good thing for us.  We are learning to communicate about the future and I guess in a different way then before.  Of course we have talked about a lot of the stuff before but it is funny to have homework and do a workbook page on marriage and family.  I know that for us, it is important to have God in the center of this relationship and when we get married, God should be the center of our marriage.  I try and make him the center of my life.  At times, when caught up in the madness, keeping God in the center can seem difficult.  This is why I love HOPe.   It is no coincidence how I ended up here.  God put me right in this big house, with all these wonderful people and children. I love my job and get to see God work each and every day.  These kids amaze me on a regular basis and the families show me gratitude, which makes me grateful for all the gifts in my life.   I think that with all the hustle and bustle: parties to run, weddings to plan, work to be done; it is nice to reflect and be grateful for the gifts in our lives.

Sometimes ones gifts are hidden away in lifes insanities, but when we put service to the greater good first, everything falls into place. I love the house of possibilities because I have seen what it has done for you Amy. Furthermore I have had the pleasure of attending the saturday night parties, what an amazing experience for all envolved. I hope I will find my hope house soon until than we will have to share yours. Love you Amy.

Congratulations on your engagement! It sounds like you are truly invested in your marriage preparation, just as you are so invested in your amazing work with our young people! We are so grateful to have you and your indominable faith, energy, and spirit!
